Neurodiversity, or the neurodiversity paradigm, is the view that many different neurotypes exist, without one being necessarily better than the others.

This view is in stark contrast to the pathology paradigm, which tries to define a "standard neurotype" as the norm, usually the allistic neurotype.

Neurodiversity is not to be confused with neurodivergence.

Definition of neurotype[edit]

A neurotype is a type of brain configuration. Every brain configuration has its own strengths and weaknesses.
