Just a comment on the blurb in the main page underneath "Outmoded terminology" section

Absolutely love that this has been said, and strongly second this notion. It aligns with the perspective on thought diversity I wrote about in the "Job interviews" page. I actually think it is unfortunately an unpopular opinion to accept such differences in vocabulary among other autistic people, so I really appreciate seeing this rare but really awesome sentiment! (this is not to say that I condone the use of outdated vocabulary, but I DO condone being nonjudgmental towards people who use said vocabulary.) this is kateapnp sorry I may not be doing this right oops --Kateapnp is there a way to get the user info to auto populate lol oops. idk I tried

Three of these ~ puts the username, 4 of them does name and time. I hope this helps!

Deleting pages

Is it possible to actually delete a page (for example if it's redundant or spam), or do you need to make it a redirect? If so, where would you redirect a spam page to? --Fochti (talk) 01:44, 24 August 2022 (UTC)

Test

I've never tried using a wiki discussion page before AutExplorer (talk) 20:13, 23 August 2022 (UTC)

It's pretty horrible isn't it :D --Fochti (talk) 20:39, 23 August 2022 (UTC)
Yup lol --AutExplorer (talk) 20:47, 23 August 2022 (UTC)

Dyscalculia & page linking

Dyscalculia is in both the "Psychology" and the "Information processing difference" sections. Should it be in just one, or both? Expanding on that, should other pages be linked in different sections, or limited to one? --Fire Eider (talk) 16:57, 23 August 2022 (UTC)

I'd say it doesn't belong in psychology anyway because it's very much a 100% neurological thing that either is a feature of your brain or isn't. The second question is great, and I have no idea :D How do other wikis like Wikipedia handle this? --Fochti (talk) 17:24, 23 August 2022 (UTC)

Is it okay to add a new section to the Main Page? (yes)

Hi, I was wondering about another major section relating to stages of diagnosis. e.g. as below. Russell Cannon (talk) 01:25 23 August 2022 (BST)

Oh, I think this would be a great idea! Feel free to add it to the main page! And by the way, you can just...do it, without asking; we're still very much in the "chaotic experimentation phase" :) Fochti (talk) 00:40, 23 August 2022 (UTC)
Thanks! LOL! I spent 3 hours studying the help on formatting syntax, came back and the work was already done! :) I'll get up to speed and do something useful soon hopefully! Russell Cannon (talk) 02:21, 23 August 2022 (UTC)
No worries, and hey – your idea of adding this section already was a very useful contribution to the page! :) Fochti (talk) 02:23, 23 August 2022 (UTC)
Thanks! <thumbs-up emoji> Russell Cannon (talk) 02:52, 23 August 2022 (UTC)

Welcome to ActuallyAutistic Wiki!

Hello! Is this thing on...? Fochti (talk) 23:24, 22 August 2022 (UTC)

Better Organization

I feel like the sections need to be organized in some way... I don't think pure alphabetical order is ideal, because I think the ActuallyAutistic terms should be first, but there are other sections that would end up before it. Also, the Meta, Misc, and Talk sections might be best at the bottom. I was thinking maybe organize alphabetically, but in related groups -- all the entirely Autistic stuff first, then the neurological differences from NT's (the Senses section, Info processing section, etc), and then the sections about dating, work culture, etc. What do you all think? --Fire Eider (talk) 20:55, 24 August 2022 (UTC)

I think we'll soon want the Main page to be more about linking to other pages than about having all the info on one page, because wikis work best when pages are granular and interconnected. When a section gets too big to manage well on the Main page, give it its own page and put a link to it on Main. Main should soon be mostly a map for how to navigate the site's content. I say when things start to feel too crowded on Main, that's the time to extract content into its own page(s) and tidy up Main. It won't be as hard to organize Main when the pieces are smaller and there's more site-wide organizational structure to rely on. --Severian (talk) 22:17, 24 August 2022 (UTC)
