Auditory perception, more commonly known as hearing, is one of the basic 5 senses. Autistics can be hypersensitive or hyposensitive to sounds.

Hypersensitive

For someone who is hypersensitive to sounds, sounds that won't bother others can be intolerably loud.

Workarounds

Consider using noise-cancelling headphones, or earbuds and listen to music. Or earplugs.
