Neurodivergent relationship
From ActuallyAutistic Wiki
Couples that consist of two neurodivergent partners are in a neurodivergent relationship.
If only one of the partners is neurodivergent, or if the two partners are neurodivergent in different ways, each belonging to a different neurotype, then they are in a neurodiverse relationship.
Neurodiverse relationship
Couples that consist of a neurotypical and neurodivergent partner can experience challenges in communication, connection and intimacy. Standard couples counseling can be harmful to these types of relationships because the blame can be placed upon the individual with ASD. Trauma-informed neurodivergent therapy is most beneficial to help these couples develop tools to heal traumas and better communicate, connect and improve intimacy.
