Accent mimicry is the practice of temporarily takin on a similar accent as the person one is talking to. This cam be intentional or unintentional. Accent mimicry can be for several reasons. This list is not exhaustive:

* trying to fit in
* a form of echolia
* because one finds the accent enjoyable to use
